Electrical Systems, Inc. was the primary electrical contractor on the construction of the largest hydrogen plant in the United States. This facility, located in Toledo, Ohio, is capable of supplying more than 120 million standard cubic feet of hydrogen a day to the Sunoco and BP refineries and to other potential customers in the region.

"The customer was so pleased with our work on this project that we were immediately awarded a subsequent contract for all the required electrical work on the construction of the Lima, Ohio hydrogen plant supplying the Valero refinery. This plant is capable of producing more than 40 million standard cubic feet of hydrogen a day to Valero's 170,000 barrel-a-day oil refinery.

In Lima, work included a Hydrogen Reformer, SMR-PSA Unit, Hydrogenation Process Unit, Process Air Coolers, two Modular Hydrogen Compressor Units, Water Treatment Unit, Power Distribution Center & Control Office Building, 300,000 feet of cable, 70,000 pounds of cable, 11,000 terminations and zero errors. All of this work was completed on schedule and on budget in seven months."
