INDUSTRIES
Electrical Systems, Inc. designs, develops and installs automation and process control systems in a variety of areas. We specialize in four industries:

Although we specialize in these industries, we perform major installations in a much wider variety of industries, including food processing, steel production, energy and power generation, aviation and transportation.

AUTOMOBILE MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS
Electrical Systems, Inc. is a leader in designing, engineering and installing automated systems for the automobile manufacturing industry.

For more than 25 years, we have worked with manufacturers such as Ford, Chrysler, Subaru, Isuzu, Mitsubishi and Toyota. We have expertise in every aspect of automobile manufacturing systems, including facilities instrumentation and control, robotics, conveyors, tooling and paint process systems.

We pride ourselves on our ability to maintain long-term relationships with our clients, contractors and vendors. We view these relationships as a testament to our dedication to satisfaction, the quality of our employees and excellence in the work performed.

At Ford Motor Company, for example, we have been named an Alliance Partner. According to William Tanner, former Program Director for the expansion of the Chicago Assembly Plant,

ESI’s capabilities in primary power, complex control (both tooling and building), automatic paint system integration, fire protection, etc., are without peer…To be able to trust an individual contractor to cover all of these bases made the entire program easier and certainly was instrumental in being able to complete the job and meet the Job #1 date.  In my 40 plus years of experience I have worked with many electrical contractors who had an expertise in one field, but I have never had the pleasure of working with one contractor who could assume all electrical responsibilities in each of the diverse disciplines such as ESI.

We work with equipment manufacturers such as Durr, Comau PICO, Dearborn Mid-west, ABB, Komatsu and Valiant among others.

CHEMICAL & WATER TREATMENT
Electrical Systems, Inc. has become an expert in the most technologically advanced Water Treatment and Purification systems used today.

We have worked on numerous major projects for the City of Chicago, The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District and suburban municipalities surrounding Lake Michigan. For example, we provided construction and installation services for the overall modernization of the Roseland Pumping Station, which sopplies 300 million gallons of water every day to the south side of the City of Chicago and the southern suburbs.

We received several letters of commendation for our work on this project. According to Roger Linde, a representative of the engineering firm Greeley and Hansen,

The extensive coordination and interaction with the subcontractors and vendors associated with the project was particularly well handled by your staff – keeping the ultimate goal of maintaining the required milestones well in sight. The planning for each phase of the project was well thought out. You should be proud of the masterful way ESI turned over the facility’s required systems as seamlessly as was done.

According to Assistant Commissioner for the City of Chicago, Glenn Tatara,

The methods employed by your people are old school and it was an absolute pleasure to work turbidity projects at both the Jardine and South plants with you. Your firm, to the experienced electrical eye, represents excellence in all areas of our trade. Thank you for your total professionalism.

We work with numerous commercial chemical companies as well, including Chemical Waste Management, Dow Chemical and Clark Chemical to name a few.

REFINING & PETROCHEMICAL SYSTEMS
Electrical Systems, Inc. is one of the Midwest’s fastest growing electrical contractors in the Refining & Petrochemical industry.

For more than 25 years, Electrical Systems, Inc. has provided electrical, instrumentation and process control integration services for clients such as Amoco, BP, Sunoco, Valero, Dow Chemical and Trigen Energy.

The nation’s need to upgrade and rebuild its refineries to meet new U.S. Environmental Protection Agency standards has resulted in increased demand for well-qualified electrical contractors with expertise in this area of work. Electrical Systems, Inc. has grown its business accordingly.

Electrical Systems, Inc. was the primary electrical contractor on the construction of the largest hydrogen plant in the United States. This facility, located in Toledo, Ohio, is capable of supplying more than 120 million standard cubic feet of hydrogen a day to the Sunoco and BP refineries and to other potential customers in the region.

The customer was so pleased with our work on this project that we were immediately awarded a subsequent contract for all the required electrical work on the construction of the Lima, Ohio hydrogen plant supplying the Valero refinery. This plant is capable of producing more than 40 million standard cubic feet of hydrogen a day to Valero's 170,000 barrel-a-day oil refinery.

In Lima, work included a Hydrogen Reformer, SMR-PSA Unit, Hydrogenation Process Unit, Process Air Coolers, two Modular Hydrogen Compressor Units, Water Treatment Unit, Power Distribution Center & Control Office Building, 300,000 feet of cable, 70,000 pounds of cable, 11,000 terminations, and zero errors. All of this work was completed on schedule and on budget in seven months.

MATERIAL AND PACKAGE HANDLING
Electrical Systems, Inc. specializes in Material and Package Handling Systems.

When UPS began construction of its 1.9 million square foot. consolidation and distribution facility in Chicago, we provided world-class electrical installation services on every aspect of the project, making this one of the largest and most efficient package sorting facilities in the world.

This state-of-the-art facility moves an estimated 2 million packages through an intricate system of conveyors, diverters, fixed position and bar code scanners, printers and applicators every day.  As the primary electrical contractor, our installation work contributed to the operation of every piece of equipment in the facility. Packages arrive at one of the 122 receiving doors and travel more than 30 miles of conveyors to one of the 1,050 shipping doors with precision and accuracy.

We work on projects for clients such as American Airlines, Delta Airlines, O’Hare International Airport, General Mills, Hunt-Wesson Foods and Nabisco.
